Mission and Vision Statements

The Coosawattee River Resort is located just a few miles outside of Ellijay and East Ellijay, Georgia in the beautiful north Georgia mountains. The Resort is just a short drive from Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Murphy, NC.

The Coosawattee River Resort is a 5,500+ acre development comprised of more than 7,000 individual lots, through which leisurely meanders 12 miles of the beautiful Coosawattee River. Created where the Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers meet, the Coosawattee River ultimately flows into Carter’s Lake: A gorgeous recreational lake developed by the Corps of Engineers. This region abounds with wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, bears, eagles, and hawks. The River is a favorite for trout fishermen, while a spot along the banks of our stocked fishing pond is also a prime destination for residents and guests alike.

With more than 170 miles of roadway throughout the Resort, you will be transported from urban congestion to pristine forest in mere minutes. Within our gates, you will experience breathtaking views, myriad water sports, beautiful amenities, riverside parks, pools, playgrounds and so very much more.
